Sea View
The challenge
This fabulous location on the North Yorkshire coastline afforded views of the sea only if you stood in a bramble patch! An unsightly shed in the neighbouring garden did nothing to improve this. A steeply sloped banking made it nearly impossible to sit out comfortably in the garden.
TimberScape's solution
We designed a large single level deck, incorporating balustrade to three sides. This allowed greater elevation and dramatically opened up the beautiful vista. Wide board balustrade to one section helped disguise the neighbour's shed. Additional banister rails to steps throughout the garden created attractive continuity.
'We are both very pleased with the excellent work you have done; it is definitely the best improvement we have made to the property. The deck has transformed the back garden; we spend much more time there now. The deck gives us a sea view we could never enjoy before.'

Quality makes all the difference
The challenge
A wonderful house and garden was being spoilt by the presence of a very badly constructed, down right dangerous timber deck.
TimberScapes solution
To rip out every remnant of the previous deck and build a proper one instead! The replacement was designed on two levels, ground and elevated, with part of the raised deck constructed to accommodate a hot tub. Elevated decks where the decking extends beyond the support posts are called cantilevered. They require experts to construct them and look stunning when done properly.
'Thank goodness that old deck is gone; you took your life in your hands every time you walked on it. Having had a TimberScapes timber deck fitted at our previous house we knew how much better it could be. This deck is so vastly superior in both build and design. We’re really glad we postponed our new kitchen to get the deck done first. Our mother is very envious, we told her to get TimberScapes to do a deck for her but she asked a general builder to do it instead and now she can see her mistake!'

What the customer wants... the customers gets
The challenge
'We want a deck with wow factor.' That was our customer’s simple brief.
TimberScapes solution
We produced detailed computer added design drawings for three different options. To our delight the customer chose the most ambitious. A split-level deck emphasising the different areas of the garden and drawing the eye out into the well planted borders. The balustrade was installed with glass panels adding to the sense of space and complimenting the conservatory. The deck boards were laid at different angles to emphasis the change in level.
'Wow, well you certainly fulfilled our brief! This is better than we dreamed it would be, we can’t stop admiring it.'
